Mission Commander “Chief” Syukran Idris served in PETRONAS for 10 years, and before becoming a consultant to the Malaysian aerospace industry.
He was panel speaker for the National Youth Convention 2017 on the topic “Journey towards a Space Nation” together with the first Malaysian astronaut and a former NASA scientist.
He recently went for a research trip to NASA facilities across North America, and to the European Space Agency to bring your kids only the best and latest space education content!
Shahrizal Ide b. Moslin
Shahrizal Ide Moslin has a Master’s degree from Delft University of Technology, Netherlands in Space System Engineering.
He then joined the National Space Agency of Malaysia (ANGKASA), as a researcher in the Space Application and Technology Development Division.
He is now currently pursuing his PhD in Economics focusing on Space Economy and Space Industry.
Dr. Siti Amalina Enche Ab Rahim
Dr. Siti Amalina binti Enche Ab Rahim serves as Senior Lecturer and Research Coordinator at Center for Satellite Communication, Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM). She is currently working in the development of ground communication system for the first UiTM’s nanosatellite, which is a collaboration project with other universities from Japan, Bhutan, and the Philippines.
She has been selected by the International Astronautical Federation (IAF) as one of the 2018 IAF Emerging Space Leaders (ESL) Grant Programme recipients. As part of the IAF 2018 Emerging Space Leaders Grant Programme, she received a travel grant to attend the UN/IAF Workshop and the 69th International Astronautical Congress (IAC) in Bremen, Germany.
Lt. Col. (Dr.) Amei Farina Bt Abd Rashid
Dr Amei formerly served at the Royal Malaysian Air Force’s (RMAF) Institute of Aviation Medicine, a world class facility providing various forms of aerophysiology training and studies for RMAF pilots and personnel.
Among the aerophysiological training provided are High G, Hypoxia Indoctrination, Ejection Seat and Spatial Disorientation. The selection process for the first Malaysian astronaut included these tests. Our space cadets will be able to hear from Dr Amei on what is aerospace medicine and find out if they have “the right stuff”!
Brelveenraj Kaur graduated as an electrical and electronic engineer from the National Defence University of Malaysia. She currently works as a satellite controller for MEASAT, a Malaysian communications satellite operator, which owns and operates the MEASAT and AFRICASAT spacecraft.
She recently attended the Young Professionals in Space Conference 2019 in Dubai, and was lucky to meet the first UAE astronaut, visit the Al Sharjah Academy for Astronomy , Space Science and Technology and The Mohammed bin Rashid Space Center. She will be sharing with the young space cadets from Generasi Marikh Academy about her experiences.
Ian Yusof is a Certified Fitness Chef, adventurer and Founder of Corporate Athletes Malaysia.
He was the Race Director of The Space Race Junior 2018, supervising and sharing useful exercise and nutrition tips for our space cadets to practice in their journey to the stars!
Johan Ooi is the founder of Johan Speaking Academy with its signature Kids Public Speaking program.
His passion for sharing and educating has brought him to share his experience at various places across Malaysia, speaking for large corporate companies.
Rahayu Ramli is a geek. Having started early by bugging cousins to let her play Ghostbusters on a Commodore 64, her love for technology grew into an obsession that has defined her career.
Rahayu now leads the Communications team in the Digital Office of a large oil and gas company. Her role involves balancing a lot of tech and a lot words, which is essentially the skill that has taken her through roles in research, consulting, education and now, oil & gas.
When she can be torn away from her multiple screens, Rahayu can be found reading a book with actual pages, drinking lots of coffee and hoping that one day she gets to go to Mars.
